Do you and your work colleagues have what it takes to go up against other organisations in a Walk to Work Week Challenge?

We hope that you can join us for some healthy competition in conjunction with Fresh Ways to Work and Living Streets for Walk to Work Week.

Adastral Park and Bibb Way have been registered as work places, and a ‘Walkers on the Wild-side’ team for the local SCC challenge. You are also encouraged to set up your own team too and compete against the others.

If you can’t walk all of part of your journey to work you can still get involved: from lunchtime walks, to walking meetings, to uploading photos from your walks and see how your steps compare with others as well as converted to distance and calories.

Simply gather a team of colleagues (max. 20 per team but each company may have as many teams as they wish) and walk to and from work or for business travel during Walk to Work Week then record your mileage on the Walk to Work Week website.

The triumphant winners will be crowned at the end of the week with prizes for:

• The team with the highest average mileage per team member
• The team with the highest percentage of staff taking part in the challenge
• Walking Champion of the week

Every participant will be entered into a prize draw.

The main aim of the website is to support the Adastral Park travel plan, which is ultimately designed to encourage us all to think about the way in which we travel to work.

Adastral Park is a key location in the East of England and we have set some big challenges to help reduce its environmental impact on the area, whilst supporting BT’s climate change objectives and Suffolk’s drive to be The Greenest County. By choosing a more sustainable and healthy way to get to work, together we can make a big difference to our carbon footprint at Adastral Park.

As the travel plan manager for Adastral Park, I aim to provide the best possible travel-related information, and work with local transport providers and other key stakeholders to encourage better links to Adastral Park.

In addition to this website, a number of initiatives are available:

• a travel information desk in the Hub
• regular events, promotions and incentives
• regular surveys, focus groups and buddy groups
• personal travel plan sessions.
