Comments on: Shuttle bus

I understand the bus times are regularly reviewed to coincide with trains coming to/from London. At the next review, could you please spare a thought for those of us who regularly commute from Norwich? Currently there is a two-minute window in the morning between the train arriving at Ipswich (8:18am) and the bus leaving the station (8:20am), which obviously means we miss it regularly. And the evening 5:40pm bus always arrives at the station one minute after the Norwich train has gone, which means another lengthy wait at the station.

It would be useful to get an earlier bus from Adastral to the station so you could be in central London by 10am

Thanks for your comments and bringing this to my attention.

We will certainly review the shuttle timetable in light of these train changes especially at those peak times which are now very popular and busy.

Unfortunately the new timetable removes the London to Peterborough train from December 2010 and the London to Norwich service will be later at 08.11.
Are the bus times going to be altered?

There is a particular problem with the 7am London to Norwich service, which should arrive in Ipswich at 8.09. It is very unreliable in the autumn and the earlier London to Perterborough service should be used in preference.

Really great service, but I think it would be really useful if there was more than one bus per hour during the busiest times in the morning and in the evening – perhaps one at 5:10 going from adastral to the station and one at 8:40ish coming to the site from the station. Not so much for the congestion, as I’ve always found there to be plenty of seats, just to provide a bit more flexability as far as time is concerned.

Really excellent service, but unfortunately the buses don’t wait if the train is delayed as claimed. The driver told me they can’t wait for delayed trains because it would mean arriving late at Adastral Park to pick up waiting passengers there. Several times I have been just a few minutes late arriving, and the bus has left the station already. I suggest removing this statement from the article.
